Butterfly, come and get me

This is Noa & Avery's Aunt Molly. Last weekend they came to visit me (and Justin) in Chicago. In addition to taking Noa to the New Kids on the Block concert on Friday night which was really awesome, but sadly I have no pictures of, we also went to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum where they have a butterfly room. Here are some pictures of the girls waiting for butterflies to land on them...

The Binky Dilemma

Any advice would be appreciated....When do you rip these obnoxious pieces of plastic out of your child's mouth and throw them in the garbage. I have such mixed emotions when it comes to this issue. I still have my childhood blanket and Noa still sleeps with hers every night and I would never even consider taking a blanket away. However, this plastic pipe somehow seems different. It is used for comfort and in no way has hindered her speech but the sight of it in her mouth embarrasses me. Avery is only allowed to have her binky in her bedroom but it obviously sneaks out occasionally. Even she feels like she is too old for a pacifier. Will she outgrow it and when???

Wrigley

Wrigley is our new 6 month old labradoodle puppy. Yes, he is named after the Chicago Cubs' Wrigley Field but don't worry, our household is still rooting for the Detroit Tigers but Comerica as a name just doesn't have the same nice ring.

No Binky!

Tonight will be the second night that Avery will sleep without her binky. Her teacher (Ms. Wendy) gave her this special toy that spins and lights up as a reward for sleeping without her binky.

Noa's Writing

Not very often does Noa choose to write stories unless for school but tonight she wrote us a goodnight story. I copied it exactly how she wrote it so you can see her writing progression. She was very proud of her story and her use of the exclamation point.

Dance Dance Revolution

Dear Uncle Ernie and Aunt Bertha,
Thanks for the gift cards for Christmas. We picked out a new game called, "Dance Dance Revolution". We get to dance to the music, we love it! (and so does our mom)

Love,
Noa and Avery

Noa and I got dressed up, went out to dinner, and then went to the Father-Daughter Dance at the YMCA with her best friend Emily and Emily's dad, David.
